is there such thing as a black phase in RSP :confused: , i over heard people at my first drill talking about it

never heard of black phase

red-very first drill, if you will be spending more than one drill there
white-in between first and last(pre BCT)
blue-last drill or two before BCT
green-in between BCT and AIT (split op people)

purple-my RSP does not even have this, but it is if it is your first/last and only drill

gold-the RSP graduation drill post AIT

They may pull out those people who need a little motivation to PT on their own time. There is no "formal" black phase of RSP though.

we had it for those who had medical conditions. People sprained ankles, flu's broken bones were stuck in it. Which would **** because you didn't do anything all weekend.

What the **** is purple phase? That's not an Army color.

The color system comes from the phase coding for BCT & AIT. BCT is broken down into Red/White/Blue. AIT is Green/Black/Gold.

For RSP:
Red = first drill
White = drills prior to BCT
Blue = last drill prior to BCT (shipper packet)
Green= back from BCT, waiting for AIT
BLACK = First & ONLY drill prior to shipping to training.
(Actually Sat w/ Red & Sun w/ Blue)
Gold = back from AIT, processing to unit.

Sorry, reminded me of another cadence. I think I might miss them or something. lol This was the ONLY cadence DS (of the cycle) Gabbard (sp?) EVER did.

I think there was a black too, but I dont remember what it was.....likely something about being back or going back....hmm... anyone?

All the cadences we ever did while running would always get our 1sg in trouble because they were "too offensive".


And on another note, if you're singing the C130 cadence, it's "jump right out and I count to 4" NOT "jump right out on the count of 4".

That is my number one pet peeve

So, Black phase is the first phase of AIT and gold phase is you final phase where you get privileges. I dont know about in RSP. We were separated by squad.

I'm sure everyone had a few, but we had a couple DS's in Bct and a few Sergeants in Ait that didnt care about not being able to do the naughty ones anymore. CSM office was between the school house and barracks which was a 3/4 mile march. We got stopped a few times as she was on her drive home. Fun times.
