I'm 18 right now, and for the past year or so I've been thinking about joining the guard. Even though my mom isn't too thrilled, in the end it's my decision. I know my vision isn't really that big of an issue, but in March 2004 I was in a major car accident and have had 4 wrist surgeries, my last one being 2 months ago. It should be my last surgery, I just had to get my metal plate removed. Anyway, if all goes well and it heals fine, would joining maybe next summer (once college lets out) work? I talked to a recruiter last year (when I hadn't had surgery since the previous year) and I told him about my wrist when he was asking about my medical history, and it seemed like no biggie to him. Well, if anyone knows please reply back :)

You might be able to get a waiver as long as there is no metal plate or anything in your wrist

Shouldn't be a problem if it doesn't bother you anymore. What state are you looking into? IF Texas contact me and we'll see what we can get rolling

No plates, screws or pins can be in your body. As far as waiver, you may not need one, just make sure you have all you medical documents from the surrery performed.
