When I separated from the Marine Corps, I was contacted by an Army Recruiter with the following "sales pitch": If you were a Marine that...

Serves 8 years active duty;

Served 8 years as an Intelligence Analyst (96b);

Achieved the rank of NCO;

You would be eligible for an appointment as a WO in the Intelligence field. I was wondering if anybody else had heard this, and if it is indeed true or still available, would it apply to the National Guard.

I just remembered hearing this, I am already thinking about joining the NG. However, if this option is available, I wouldn't mind attempting.

Yes, this is accurate, but there's more to it than that. Before you sign anything, have an interview with your state's Officer Strength Manager or Command Chief Warrant Officer. You will need to complete WOCS, of course, before appointment as a WO.
