my husband just swore in with the guard, signed his contract for 35F and $15 K bonus, the next day the recruiter told him PS only get bonus in critical MOS, which 35F is not. He's willing to go a different way, but I'm curious about whether or not the bonus really is only for critical MOS, because what i've read says it doesn't matter. any info would be appreciated!

I am about to reenlist myself after the joy of two days at MEPS. If Your husband signed the contract with the bonus on the contract he should receive the bonus.

Yeah, like SSG. Hosey said if it was in his contract at MEPS and he signed then he should get it or its a breach of contract.

Read his contract. HIs bonus may not be MOS related. I got 15k, and its because am in an understrength unit. not because my mos is in demand. his paperwork should clarify why he got a bonus, and if its not in his contract he got screwed.

I would look at the papers he signed, on there it will say. Many factors effect bonus's. On guy got 5k more then I did for the same MOS and the only thing different was he signed a few weeks after I had.

I am curious on the bonus for prior service, I have 10 "good" years in, however with IRR time I am over 20. Does having 20 years in effect the bonus for prior service. To be honest if I am not able to receive a bonus with the Guard I may return to the reserves.

Hooah! I think that is the best idea I've heard all day! Good luck.
