I am a 36 y/o career Firefighter/Paramedic employeed by a municipality in Tx. I was wondering if there were oppurtunities or incentives in this field for "reserves". I do not have past Military experience. I have been in the fire/Ems service for 15 years. I found some info on Flight Medic school, it appeared this was for enlisted personnel with many other pre reqs I did not understand. I am interested in the Emergency Medical field, ground or Air...Any help would be appreciated. Matt K.

We have a firefighter job, but it is a VERY small career field, it's hard to find a unit vacancy, and it's so overstrength you may wait years to get promoted. More realistic is 68W medic, which we have in virtually all units.

You might also wish to broaden your horizons, and perhaps use your Guard career to gain additional skills, not just reinforce what you already have.
