I was recently informed by a cang recruiter that it would be possible for me to reenlist in the guard even though i was discharged from active duty with an honorable discharge with a reentry code of 3 separation code of jkk and narrative reason separation was misconduct. I had few questions.
is there any chance in **** of me getting a waiver?
If so even though i was chaptered out for misconduct (dirty urinalysis) is it possible to go in the guard as an mp (Will i be able to get clearance)?
What are the pt standards for the guard? same as regular army?
And does anyone know if you can volunteer to go to iraq?
Any help with this would be much appreciated.

You have to wait 12 months from time of discharge, if you were not reduced on AD you will be reduced when you reenlist(if E-1 to E-3 reduced to E-1, E-4 to E-6 reduced 2 grades; E-7 or higher are ineligible for reenlistment). And you must complete a certified rehablilitation program and evidence of participation in a program in support of sobriety. The PT standards are the same as AD.

a rehab program? it was never offered to me in ad. i pretty much got my article 15 and then a few months later they came to me with a chapter and at the time it seemed like i had no other options, so i took it. I faintly remember being told that if you do your first three years and then get a dirty pee test, they automatically start the chapter. so what am i supposed to do if i never went to a rehabilitation program?

I have not dealt with this so I would have to call my MEPS and see what to do. You may have to take one now, but again i am not sure. Just ask your recruiter he may have dealt with your situation before. Also, unfortunately MP is not an option.

i really appreciate your help with my questions. Do you know if it is possible to volunteer to go to iraq? and if so, do you have any idea how long that would usually take? the recruiter i talked to also just said i need three character references and a statement by me about how i have straightened out.

alloutwar: Once you reenlist you can defintely volunteer for iraq duty. You would talk to your unit admind and he would put you on the list and if they need you, you would be crossleveled to that unit and deployed. Popular mos with no clearance are also 92f, 92y, cook, etc.
As for army girl:
If you are currently in the guard you can appeal or beg your unit to almost plea bargain meaning you will take a rank cut and pay cut promise in a sworn statement not to do it again and bug the commander every day for help. IF your in training you can wait 12 months appeal and re-enlist.
