Well, been trying really really hard to get in the guard for about 7 months . Anyways, MEPS dq'd me for some medical stuff to do with my legs. The NGB declined me for a waiver, and the thing is that i do not have the condition MEPS says i have, and i had like 4 doctors look at me and 2 specialist who say the same thing. My only bet is if I get x-rays onto paper, and send it up to my state surgeon to make an approval.Hopefully that will work cause i am out of ideas. Just upsetting to see these guard advertisements and to have some motivation but then realize you cannot do anything about it because MEPS dq'd you over some bogus **** that you actually do not have and have been fine your whole life with no medical conditions like this ever. Maybe you guys have some advise?

I have never done one but I understand that you can request an appeal of NGB decision. You will have to follow that procedure are before with the med waiver. Have your recruiter get you a copy of the MEPS Medical Report and bring that to your civilian doctor. Do not get you hopes up because NGB is pretty final and appeals are rarely if ever granted. Good luck. You are right sometimes the best people, despite desire and motivation are dq'd, but ultimately it is in the best interest of the service and the individual.

Yea basically, after I heard about the denial from NGB i was freaking out. Because every one thought i was going to get my waiver, because i had plenty of doctors and specialist write me a clean bill of health and even say I do not have what meps diagnosed me with. What a bunch of recruiters and some one from the my local congressman's office said to do was go through the state surgeon with x-rays, proving it. Is there any other way to get in, like go through meps or something?

No other way. You will have to work the waiver system submit the paperwork to State Surgeon and have them resubmit to NGB.

Good Luck
