Separation pay was given due to force reduction in 1992. Honorable discharge no problems with waivers or such everything good. Due to enlist next week for Try One, get MOSQ'd then reenlist for six years for $15,000. That takes me to my question; How is the separation money paid back? A percentage of my drill pay? All of my drill pay? Bonus money? Or is it paid back at all? Has any one had any dealings with this situation? Thanks in advance, REDLEG!

If you are otherwise qualified, then yes. The issue with that early out money was how much you would draw at retirement, if you later qualified for retirement. The early out money was to compensate you for the loss of military retirement. If you later qualify for military retirement anyway, then you need to account for that money in some way. I don't know if you need to pay it back, or draw a reduced retirement. It seems that Army Times has an article on this topic every other month, so you may wish to review back issues.

I recieved the same ting in 1999, and I was told in Aug, when I re-enlisted in the Guard, I would not have to pay that back, ever.
They better not have lied to me or else................
