I heard that someone may continue to serve in the National Guard even if they are recieving disability compensation for a service connected disability. I was wondering if this is true, and if so are there any restraints as to the percentage of disability rating?

A Soldier can continue to serve with a VA disability rating of no higher than 30%, lower depending on the precise nature of the disability, and how it affects the individual's PULHES rating, or retainability standards of AR 40-501.

I believe you loose your disability pay though. Is that true? I am trying to enlist with a 10% disability from prior service. But no one knows for sure what happens to your monthly VA check.

You do not lose you VA disability money. every year the VA will send you a letter saying that you have completed so many days of active duty and you have to verify and sign it and return it to them then they will prorate your disablity check until you paid back what they overpaid you.
