The NFL’s High School Player Development National Tournament pits regional teams from across the country in a 7–on–7 annual playoff. Out of 20,000 players enrolled in the nationwide program, the best earned a chance to compete in the event, held on July 10–11, 2009, at the Minnesota Vikings’ Winter Park training facility. The 16 teams, representing 8 NFC and 8 AFC franchises, received instruction from NFL coaches and spent time with Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson.
